Information stored by the extension

ApplyAssist stores the information you choose to save in your browser:

• Profile details used to fill applications, such as your name, contact details, location, work authorization, professional links, and job preferences.
• Saved answers you create for recurring application questions.
• A local file-system handle and basic metadata for a resume you explicitly select, such as its file name and selection time. The extension does not copy the resume contents to JobAiro.

Profile data, saved answers, and resume metadata are stored in chrome.storage.local. A saved resume file handle is stored in the extension's browser-managed IndexedDB storage.

How ApplyAssist uses information

When you open ApplyAssist, it reads visible application-form labels and controls on the active page to determine whether it is a recognized supported Applicant Tracking System page or a conservatively matched compatible application form. Unrelated forms remain disabled. ApplyAssist changes form values only after you click Fill Page, using your saved profile and answers for high-confidence fields. It skips sensitive self-identification, legal attestation, signature, and other protected fields, and it does not submit applications.

If you choose Attach Resume, ApplyAssist opens the application page's native file chooser; you select the file to attach. ApplyAssist settings can store an optional browser-managed file handle as a local preference, but the current attach action does not silently or automatically upload that saved file. You remain in control of selection and submission.

Data transmission and third parties

The ApplyAssist extension has no JobAiro account, backend, analytics, advertising, or telemetry service. It does not transmit your extension profile, saved answers, resume, or application content to JobAiro or sell that information.

When you ask ApplyAssist to fill an employer's application, the selected information is inserted into that employer's or ATS provider's webpage. That site may process, save, or transmit form data as you interact with it, according to its own privacy policy and technical behavior. Review the employer's and ATS provider's terms before continuing.

This JobAiro marketing page may collect ordinary website analytics and technical request data under the JobAiro website privacy policy. That website activity is separate from extension runtime data.

Permissions and page access

ApplyAssist requests browser permissions needed to store settings, work on supported ATS hosts, and use temporary access to the active tab for compatible HTTPS application forms. It first checks for a supported ATS or a conservatively matched application form; unrelated forms cannot be filled. It does not use those permissions for tracking, advertising, or unrelated browsing activity. The extension changes form controls only to provide the user-requested autofill and review workflow.

Retention and deletion

Extension data remains in browser-managed local storage until you edit or remove it through ApplyAssist settings or clear the extension's stored data through Chrome. You can overwrite or clear profile fields and remove saved answers and the saved resume handle. ApplyAssist keeps no cloud copy. Information already entered into an employer or ATS page follows that third party's retention and deletion policies.

Security

ApplyAssist limits data handling to browser-managed extension storage and user-requested interaction with supported ATS pages and conservatively matched compatible application forms. No security measure is perfect; keep Chrome and the extension up to date, protect access to your device, and review every field before submitting an application.

ApplyAssist does not operate a network service for extension data. Any transmission performed by an employer or ATS application page is controlled by that third party. Confirm that the application page uses HTTPS before entering or filling personal information.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

ApplyAssist's use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when ApplyAssist's behavior changes or applicable requirements are revised. The date above will identify the current version.
